Udhampur, Jan 24: The Army and the civil police achieved a major through to thwart terrorist design to cause disturbances in Kashmir on the eve of Republic Day.
The Army and SOG busted a major hideout in Kerar, Pattan, recovering a large cache of arms, ammunition and assorted war like stores.
The recoveries made included one Pika machine gun, mortar bombs, 108 assorted grenades, anti-tank mines, ammunition for both Pika and AK-17, explosive stocks, 10-12 kgs of explosive powder used for IEDs, radio set Kenwood with batteries and IED circuits.
This is one of the largest recoveries in recent times.
