Jammu, Jan 24: The timely and prompt action by the army helped prevent further loss of property and human lives in a devastating fire which broke out in the Kupwara market two days back.
The first which had engulfed four cloth go- downs fully in the busy Kupwara market was threatening to spread to the neighboring areas. However, the timely and prompt reaction by the 41 RR and the fire tenders managed to control the fire and prevented further loss of property and lives.
The quick reaction of the army troops was well appreciated by the locals and the civil administration. This further cements lies between the ‘Army and the Awaam”.
