| Ghost’ haunts Bijbehera | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 24: A `ghost’ threw life out of gear in Bijbehara town last evening. People came out and raised slogans in the mosques to protest what they called abduction of a boy by the ghost. According to reports, the news of abduction of Muhammad Ishfaq by a ghost like figure caused panic in the town around 8 p.m Saturday. Reports said Muhammad Hafiz (15) and Muhammad Ateeq (17) both sons of Abdul Rehman were sitting in their lawns when half a dozen masked figures entered their house. The duo raised an alarm. The masked figures ran away. When the people reached the spot, one of the boys had fainted. Meanwhile, the masked figures grabbed Muhammad Ishfaq who was on his way to Abdul Rehman’s house. The ghosts took Ishfaq along. Reports said a large number of people came out with torches to search for Ishfaq. They also raised slogans from the local mosque. Soon after a search party found scared Ishfaq near a graveyard. Ishfaq told the people that the masked figures were not ghosts but army personnel who were patrolling the area. The police reached the area around 11 p.m. The angry people blocked the highway Sunday morning and demanded action against the erring soldiers. However, the concerned SHO pacified them by assuring investigation into the matter.
