Republic Day celebrated with great enthusiasm

Jammu, Jan 26: The 61st Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the state. The main function was held at Maulana Azad stadium, Jammu, were the Governor, NN Vohra hoisted the national flag and addressed the gathering present on the occasion in thousands.
Beside this the function was also celebrated at various places in the division by various political parties educational institutions, labour unions shopkeepers associations, Mohalla Committes municipalities, religions organizations etc with full zeal and fervour. March past by police, BSF, NCC and by the students both boys and girls and various cultural programmes add colour to the function. VVIP’s who hoisted the tri-colour on the occasion highlighted the importance of the day and progress made during the last sixty years in the country.
Member parliament, Madan Lal Sharma unfurled national flag at government higher secondary school, Pallanwalla a border village. Students of various school of the areas took part in the celebration and presented colourful cultural programmes. While addressing the gathering, Sharma expresses gratitude to the people who attend the function in large, despite disturbance on the borders. He urged upon the border people to avail all facilities provided the government for them.
Congress party workers in large number attended the function at party headquarter were the national flag was hoisted by district president Om Chopra. He on the occasion elaborate the importance of the day and urged upon the workers to help the down trodden segment of the society Former Dy. Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma appealed the party workers propagate the policies of party among the masses. Several senior or party leaders attend the function. Similar function was held at Udhampur where Yashpal Khajuria hoisted the flag. BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas hoisted the National Flag at Patoli Chowk in presence of a large number of party activisits and the local residents. Kuldeep Magotra, Ram Krishan, Beli Ram Sudan, Bal Khajuria, Arvind Sharma and others were present on the occasion.
Jammu West MLA Prof Chaman Lal Gupta hoisted the tri-colour in Old Janipur, Rajpura Magotrian, Durga Nagar areas of his constituency.
Former State President & Jammu East MLA Ashok Khajuria, alongwith Distt. President Rajesh Gupta and other leaders hoisted the tri-colour at BJP Headquarters, City Chowk, Panjtirthi Chowk, Radio Station Chowk and Kanji House Upper Gumat.
BJP Mahila Morcha State President Usha Choudhary also hoisted the national flag at Rehari.
Peoples Democratic Party celebrated the Day with flag hoisting ceremony at Party Headquarters, Gandhinagar here. While speaking on the occasion Thakur Balbir Singh, General Secretary, said that democratic values of the largest democracy in the world have always been pursued by the PDP. He hoped that people of Jammu and Kashmir will usher in the phase of peace and prosperity and PDP will always try in the democratic ways for making India a future Super Power in the world which will aim in achieving universal brotherhood particularly in South Asian countries.
Several prominent leaders of the party including S. Tarlok Singh Bajwa , S. Rangil Singh, Syed Asgar Ali, Shanti Devi, Dupinder Kaur, Ved Mahajan, Daman Bhasin, A K Sawhney, R.K. Bali, Sushila Jamwal, Rashhpal Blowria, Ranjeev Kumar, Mohal Chowdhary, H R Chargotra, Chaman Angral, Surjeet Kour, Bashir Assad, Ashok Jogi , Baldev Slathia, K K Sharma, Ashiq Hussain Khan, Ashok Bhan, E-Peter, Abdul Rashid Malik were also present on the occasion.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry celebrated 61st Republic Day with traditional gaiety and its President Y.V. Sharma unfurled the National Flag.
Highlighting the progress registered by the country during the last 60 years, Sharma expressed the hope that in the near future the country will again assume pivotal position in the world community. He asked the members present to work with transparency, dedication and sincerity in serving the country and the society.
Christian Baradari North Jammu organized an impressive function at Ustad Mohalla to celebrate the Republic Day. A large number of people of the area too participated in the function.
President Variyam Teji unfurled the National tricolor while Ashwani Charak was the guest of honour at the occasion. Bishop N.M. Nisar, Ch. Salocas Nar, General Secretary Rohil Mattoo, Cashier Thomsan Sotra, vice-president Postor Musraf Bhatti, Secretary Balbir Mattoo, Publicity secretary Tariq Nar were also present.
Sweets were distributed amongst the gathering and while blankets were distributed to widows of the Baradari.
President, Variwayam Teji has greeted the general masses of the state on this auspicious occasion.
Dogra Sadar Sabha, president Gulchain Singh Charak hoisted national flag in the premises of Sabha. He on the occasion exhorted upon the people to preserve the values of democracy, brotherhood and communal harmony. On the occasion students of Jyoti Public School presented cultural items and sang national anthem.
Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, along with Dy. Mayor and Commissioner un-furled the national flag at town hall and extended greetings to gathering present on the occasion. He on the occasion felicitated the officials of JMC for their commendable services. Beside this commissioner JMC hoisted flag at Shakti Nagar were a function was organized by the shopkeeper association.
The department of students welfare university of Jammu celebrate the day with full patriotic fervour and gaiety. Vice chancellor Prof. Varun Sahni hoisted the national flag and ballons were also released on the occasion.
Addressing the university fraternity, the vice-chancellor congratulated one and all said that we have to grow from strength to strength as a nation. Each one of us must contribute in nation building in own humber say. He paid tributes to the great martyrs who laid down their livest for our future. He exhorted the university fraternity to work fervently for the institution.
Prof. Veena Gupta from the department of Dogra, was also congratulated by the university for being nominated for the prestigious state award for the contribution in the field of literature.
The provincial president National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta hoisted tricolour at Bhawan. Large number of National Conference leaders including legislators, Ex Legislator and officer bears were present on this occasion.
Addresssing the gathering Gupta recalled the history of political struggle of independence and subsequent rule of law for the people of India. He said it is on this day of 26th January 1950 that constitution was introduced and independence India was given run under new constitution drafted by its constitution experts and national leaders.
The employees of Airport autority of India celebrated the day with full zeal and technical manager, Suresh Chander Verma took the salute. Children on the occasion were offered sweets who presented cultural items.
Begger girls welfare society of Chib Mohalla, Chinore celebrate the day with great enthusiasm. The girls on the occasion presented cultural items and also spoke about the importance of the day. Tasleem Kausar apprised the gathering about the welfare and the step taken for the welfare of women and providing them value base education. Retd. IGP SS Bijral who was the chief guest spoke about the importance of girls education. Present on the occasion were Sohail Kazmi, Shakeel etc.
The Rajinder Bazar traders welfare association celebrated Republic day function in a simple but impressive manner.
In sweet melodious of patriotic songs national flag was hoisted by the chairman of the bazaar association Krishan Lal Gupta. On the occasion Halwa and Sweets were distributed to the children and all others who were present in the celebrations.
All Jammu and Kashmir Christian Forum celebrated Republic Day at Amphalla Chowk Markers Gill, state president of Forum unfurled the national flag amongst the gathering, and national anthem was sung in one voice by the gathering.
On the occasion Gill distributed sweets amongst the gathering and distributed blankets to the poor old men and women. After distribution slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ Azad Hindustan Zindabad” was raised by the public on the spot.
Colonel colony welfare committee celebrated republic day by hoisting national flag by president, Angrez Singh. Others present among the residents of colony were S. Mohan Singh, Vijay Chikan, Manohar Bhagat etc.
National Anthem was song by all who had joined the ceremony.
Small children in their school uniforms sung patriotic songs, which made the occasion bring and live.
The J&K PHE Daily wagers union celebrated republic day at its head office. Mahesh pura, under the chairmanship of Swaran Kumar. The flag was fulfilled by S. Kamaljeet Singh Khalsa Sr. Vice president national trade union federation along with CRPF Jawans.
The president water works (PHE) employees association Jammu province celebrated republic day at PHE Central Pumping Station Muthi. All the officers, PHE workers and ministerial staff present in the function of Republic Day and Dalip Bakshi, chief engineer, PHE hoisted the national flag and narrate importance of this day and urged the employees and workers to work dedicatedly and honestly and also remain alert to safe guard the property of the department from the anti social elements.
Staff and inmates of Pahari Hostel Shastri Nagar celebrated Republic Day. On this occasion Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah Bukhari vice chairman (MOS) state advisory board for development of pahari speaking people along with the Thakur Rashpal Singh vice chairman Kissan board unfurled the national flag and took salute from a squad of hostel inmates chief guest distributed sweets and awarded inmates with cash prize.
POWERGRID Northern Region Transmission System –II celebrated 61st Republic Day at Grid Bhawan, near Bahu Plaza Jammu with gaiety & enthusiasm.

The District Congress Committee Udhampur organized a colorful function to celebrate the Republic Day. A Parbhat Pheri was carried through the main bazaars of the town which received unprecedented welcome all-over. The procession culminated at Bhagat Singh Park, where the National tricolor was unfurled by Bhupinder Singh Pathania, District Congress President, followed by playing of national anthem and heart-rending slogans, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘ Azad Hindustan Zindabad’ by hundreds of Congress activists and general people having assembled over here. The occasion was marked by offering of garlands to the idol of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and distribution of sweets and beating of drums throughout the township by Congress workers.
While addressing a mammoth gathering Pathania recalled the sacrifices and contributions of our freedom fighters during the freedom movement. While giving a clarion call to the youth, he called for renewed efforts and articulations in order to preserve the hard-earned freedom and pushing through the country to lofty echelons of development and prosperity. In the wake of global threats of environmental aberrations, terrorism, droughts and economic slow-downs, a pragmatic and judicious approach is the need of the hour.
Brij Mohan Sharma, municipal councillor recalled the 125-year long golden history of the party and its contribution in getting the country free from foreign yoke. He also called upon the party men to get united and gear up for future challenges.
Among others the function was addressed by Ashok Gupta, Chairman Municipal Committee.

Among others who participated in the function included Sanjay Gupta Dheeraj Kohli Rajnish Pargal, Ratan Gopal, Kiran Pargal, Harbajan Singh, Ashu Gupta, Kaka Gupta Sunny.
61st Republic Day was also celebrated in District Jail Kathua.
Superintendent Jail Dinesh Sharma hoisted the national flag.
The Jail officers including Sikandar Kumar Assistant Superintendent and Surinder Kumar, Assistant Superintendent Jail Staff, OB Vijaya Sub Inspector CRPF 121 BN F-Company, CRPF Staff and Jail inmates were present on the occasion.
Muncipal Council Kathua also organized a function to celebrate the Republic Day.
Chairman, Municipal Council Rajinder Singh hoisted the National Flag on the occasion.
The activists of the District Congress Committee Kathua organised a programme at its office to celebrate the 61st republic day.
On the occasion, Secretary Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Manohar Singh, District General Secretary Bhupinder Singh( Pink), Kathua Block President Sohan Lal Sharma, senior leaders Master Lal Chand Sharma and Rattan Chand Kalotra were present.
Kathua district president of Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party Ravinder Pathania hoisted the national flag at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Kathua.
10 Infantry Division celebrated the 61st Republic Day at Cross Sword Division Headquarters, Akhnoor. Major General K Majumdar, GoC Cross Sword Division, unfurled the national flag.
All J&K Backward Classes Union organized three functions in connected with Republic Day at Kashyap Rajput Sabha, Resham Ghar Colony and Kanak Mandi. The tricolour was hoisted by Vaishno Dutt Dogra, State President Congress OBC Cell.
