| Various educational institutes celebrate Republic Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 26: Several educational institutes including schools and colleges celebrated the 61st Republic Day at their respective premises with great enthusiasm here today. Tiny Tots Higher Secondary School celebrated Republic Day with gaiety and fervour. Speaking on the occasion, the chairperson, Veena Handa stressed that frequent programmes on different occasions must be organised as it brings out the hidden talents of the students and makes them confident. Corporator Rajni Bala, who was the guest of honour, unfurled the national flag and distributed prizes and merit certificates to the students who had taken part in different activities on the occasion. SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Jammu organised a function to celebrate 61st Republic Day here in the premises of the school. The programme started with the hoisting of National Flag followed by the March Past presented by the students of the school. Senior National Conference leader and MLC Ajay Sadhotra was the chief guest while the Deputy Mayor, Dharamvir Singh Jamwal was guest of honour. Speaking on the occasion, Sadhotra said that India is a secular, republic and democratic country and advised students to follow the footsteps of great personalities in life. In his address, Principal of the school, Mohammad Ayub, stressed upon to inculcate patriotism, integration and brotherhood. Trikuta Deep Singh High School, Old Janipur celebrated the Republic day with full zeal. Students of the institute carrying national flags in hands took out a rally which passed through various bazaars of the area. SM Shishu Niketan, Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri along with its junior wing “KIDZEE” celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and joy in the presence of chairman TR Mahajan, Managing Director, Parneesh Mahajan, Liason Officer Harvinder, Principal Sunita Koul, Co-ordinator Sunita Dhar and other staff members. BN College of Education along with BN Hr Secondary School, Nawabad Sunjuwan organized republic day celebrations under the chairmanship of AG Kohli, chairman BN Educational Trust. Speaking on the occasion AG Kohli stressed that unity of people is need of the hour through which we can strengthen our nation. Taawish College of Education, Channi Rama, celebrated Republic Day in the college premises. An impressive function was organized by the college students on the occasion which include dance and patriotic songs. The principal of the college Dr Raj Kumar Sharma presided over the function, and spoke on the importance of the day. Students of TS Public School and Euro Kids, Trikuta Nagar, celebrated Republic Day in the school premises and presented colourful bonanza of various items. Nisar Ahmed Khan, General Secretary All India Rahul Gandhi Fans’ Association, congratulated the people of the state on this occasion and hoped the day from onwards will bring prosperity and peace. Dewan Badri Nath Higher Secondary School in association with Garden Welfare Residents’ Society celebrated Republic Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Himmat Learning Field Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat the Republic Day with fervour and gaiety. The celebrations started with the hoisting of national flag by Chairman Chander Mohan Sharma. On the occasion, Principal Indu Sharma paid homage to the martyrs. Government Girls Higher Secondary School Miran Sahib celebrated the Republic Day in the school premises. Veteran Political Science Scholar BR Maandi was the Chief Guest while SHO Miran Sahib Paramjeet was the guest of honour on the occasion. Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor also organised Republic Day function wherein SDM Akhnoor Ashok Sharma hoisted the tricolour. Chanderbhaga High School, Akhnoor also celebrated the Republic Day. On the occasion, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Gurudev Singh hoisted the national flag. Principal Rajni Chib and Anuradha Gupta were present on the occasion. Dati Todi Memorial Convent School Ratnal Bishnah celebrated the Republic Day with traditional fervour and gaiety. Addressing the students, Principal Sunita Bangotra threw light on the importance of the day. Government Higher Secondary School Moghla (Kalakote) also organized a function to celebrate the Republic Day. Principal Abdul Khaliq Poswal unfurled the national flag.
