| Gujjars meet President , seek full ST benefits | | | Early Times Report Jammu Jan 27: The President Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha J&K chapter called on the President of India Smt. Pratibha Patil to apprise her with the problems being faced by the nomadic tribe in the Jammu and Kashmir. According to the press statement president Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha J&K, Eshfaq-Ur-Rehman Poswal during his meeting with President of India her at Rashtra Pati Bhawan New Delhi pleaded that despite having sizeable population of Gujjar community (ST) are deprived of various benfits accorded to ST status in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Poswal justified his demand that for want of reservation, gujjars of J&K state are suffering too much in the form of political, social, educational and economic backwardness. The statement said the president of India paid a keen wear to the appraisal and assured her best to do for the community.
