| Students boycott classes for 'open choice' in Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 27 : Demanding implementation of 'open choice' system, which could give them better flexibility in the upcoming examinations, hundreds of college students today boycotted their classes here. Shouting slogans, the students from various city colleges, held a protest demonstration and demanded 'open choice' as it offers them better flexibility while writing papers out of a fixed number of questions.
''Due to the two-month long agitation our routine studies were affected and now the authorities should give some relaxation during examinations in different streams,'' one of the student leaders alleged.
The students said 'open choice' is their ''genuine demand'' and it should be accepted by the authorities.
Meanwhile, the students tried to take on the streets but the heavy deployment of security forces outside colleges foiled their attempt.
