| First Lady appreciates cultural programme, gives away prizes | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 27: In connection with the Republic Day celebrations, the Youth Services and Sports Department organized a Ladies Cultural Programme, at Abhinav Theatre, here this afternoon.
The First Lady, Mrs. Usha Vohra, was the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Vohra, appreciated the cultural bonanza, observing that it was a very well put up programme. She said that the performance of those who presented the programme amply demonstrated the hard work put in by them in preparing various cultural items. She wished them all the best by saying that let their lives be filled with full of colour and joy, which was the hallmark of today’s cultural programme.
The First Lady gave away prizes to various schools, NGOs and other organizations for presenting a scintillating cultural programme based on the glorious composite cultural heritage of the State and the country.
Earlier, on arrival at the Abhinav Theatre, the First Lady was presented a general salute by the school bands troops and received by the Organising Committee of the programme.
Vohra lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the commencement of the cultural bonanza.
The Director, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. G. M. Dar presented welcome address.
The Additional Secretary, Technical Education, Ms. Reva, was also present on the occasion.
The Cultural programme based on the theme of glorious composite cultural heritage of the State and the country, was highly appreciated by the jam-packed audience, which included a number of prominent ladies.
