| Accused booked under NDPA Act denied bail | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 27: Judicial Magistrate Akhnoor Khem Raj Sharma today rejected the bail application of Shehkar Ram son of Sita Ram of Gurha Jagir Tehsil Akhnoor who was booked under NPDS Act,
The alleged accused was arrested by the Akhnoor police on January 18, 2010 and had recovered 305 intoxicant capsules from his possession.
After hearing Advocate Joginder Lal appearing for the accused and Prosecuting Officer Anshuman Dubey appearing for the state and going through the police case, the Judicial Magistrate observed that Court should not act as mute spectator, but act as ‘Watch Dog’ and save the society of bad elements who are polluting the society in any manner. In the present case the selling of intoxicant capsules, containing narcotic substance is on rise and the applicant does not deserve the concession of bail and as such bail application is dismissed.
