| YIO to honour HC Mohammad Rafi | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 27: The Young India Organization, (YIO) an NGO of students and social workers congratulated head constable Mohammad Rafi of Jammu and Kashmir Police on getting President’s Police Medal for Gallantry and Sher-e-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry on the occasion of Republic Day 2010. Mohammed Rafi joined Jammu and Kashmir Police as constable and was promoted as selection grade constable in 2010 for his utmost courage. He was again promoted as head constable in 2002 for his outstanding performance and bravery in counter insurgency operations. In his 14 years of service he remained posted at Srinagar, Rajouri, Mahore, Sourankot, Samba and Jammu. Presently he is posted at Doda. He was injured seriously while fighting with militants in an encounter at Raika Qasim Nagar Jammu on 2nd of August 2002. Beside this he is also the recipient of DGP cash award 2007, DGP cash award 2008, DGP cash award 2009, DGP commendation certificate and DGP commendation medal-2008. The Young India Organization has also announced to honour Head Constable Mohammed Rafi in the first week of March this year. Those who congratulated Mohammed Rafi included Mohammed Abdullah Qurashi President YIO, Natwar Singh Darula, Umar Mukhtar, Vinod Singh Katoch, Farooq Faraz, Charanji Lal Thapa, Raghunandan Singh, Atul Kumar, Ganesh Kumar and Vijay Kumar Gupta.
