| Night temperature improves | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Jan 27 : With the arrival of Western Disturbances (WD) in Jammu and Kashmir resulting in cloudy weather, the night temperature was four degree above normal this morning while the day temperature had gone down, though it was still about eight degree above normal.
Official sources said WD, originating from Arabian sea had entered the region after passing through Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Though they are not fully active, but there can be rain or snow at few places in the state during the next 24 hours, they said.
However, on January 28 and January 29, there are possibility of snow and rainfall, which could end the long dry spell.
A weather office spokesman said that the minimum was recorded at it was 2 degrees Celsius this morning, four degree above normal against yesterday's minus 2 degree.
The maximum was 13.4 degrees in the summer capital, Srinagar, still 8.5 degree above normal. However, it was three degrees below against the yesteday's maximum temperature.
The night temperature had witnessed considerable improvement in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region due to cloudy weather.
Pahalgam, the base camp of holy Amarnath cave, remained the coldest with mius 0.4 degree against yesterday's minus 4.6 degree.
