Jammu,October 9: Ever since Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azads stand on the issue of capital punishment to Mohd Afzal Guru has been made public he has been maintaining a low profile and prefering to keep mum.
On Monday also when mediamen approached him at the venue of the inauguration of rechristened Maharaja Hari Singh Zanana park, to comment on the issue of self-rule and Mohd Afzal Guru he made efforts to steer clear his way guiding media men to take pictures of the park before reaching his official vehicle.
On two such previous occasions during the last four days Azad also made efforts to keep medimen at bay and desisted from making any comments on the PDP stand on self-rule or on the fate of Mohd.Afzal Guru.
On Monday,When newsmen approached Mr Azad posing similar questions he simply waved his hand saying “no comments.”
Again he was asked to comment on the PDP slogan of self-rule he smilingly said “I have nothing to say. You better ask them”
When a newsman wanted to know whether Afzal Guru deserved clemency, Azad again waved his hand and suggested to newsmen to examine the development of Zanana Park which, over the years, had been converted into a car park area.
He repeated the exercise at Kathua, where he addressed a public meeting, and during the Dussera festival. He refused to oblige newsmen who tried to ask number of questions. He told newsmen “I have nothing to say.” When a newsman shook hands with the Chief Minister at a public function in the city today, he requested Azad to answer some questions so that he could make a “good copy.” Azad told the newsmen “ Aaj Koi Khabar Nahe Banegee”.
