| BJP protests against price in Doda | | | Early Times Report
Doda , Jan 28: In continuation of its contry-wide programmes, hundreds of BJP activists from different areas of Doda district gathered at Doda Bus Stand to register protest against the price rise. Led by State Executive Member Koushal Kotwal, they also burnt the effigy of the Congress-led UPA for its total failure to check the hike in prices of essential items.
Koushal Kotwal, while addressing the massive gathering on this occasion, charged the UPA of adopting anti-people policies which has resulted into manifold problems for them throughout the country. He said in these days, when the prices of essential items have gone up, the monthly budget of a family has been badly shattered. He expressed surprise over the non-seriousness on part of the UPA to take effective steps to provide some respite to the people. Only lip service is provided to mislead the people on one pretext or the other. No one in the government has any definite reasoning for rise in the prices, he regretted. He said high claims of record production are made but the prices still touch sky and many items are going beyond the reach of common man. He asked the Congress-led UPA to wake up and take immediate steps to bring down the price chart of essential items in the country.
Other BJP leaders including Gajey Singh, Des Raj Kattal, Sindhoor Singh and Narinder Sharma also addressed the protestors.
