Proper education imparting system jugular vein for positive metamorphosis: Azad

Jammu, October 09 – Describing proper education imparting system as a jugular vein for positive metamorphosis of the society, Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has called for urgent reforms in making state’s education system most effective having pace with international standard.
Speaking at one-day conference on educational reforms and role of private schools here on Monday, Chief Minister said that attention has to be focused to reshape the education system making it qualitative and market oriented.
Chief Minister announced that a commission would be soon constituted to look into the matters pertaining to effecting befitting reforms in the education system and running private schools in the state. He said the commission would be asked to submit the preliminary report to the government by December, 2006 with respect to the temporary recognition and affiliation of the schools. He said that the commission would give final report pertaining to all aspects of reforms to the government by the end of fiscal.
Mr. Azad said that the performance of private schools is better as compared to the government run schools and this aspect has also to be looked into. He said though government schools provide good salaries and better facilities to the teachers as compared to private schools even then their performance is not that as it should have been. He said that all this scenario requires expert analysis so that imparting of quality education is ensured in government schools. He said we have also to look into the fact that in government schools how a qualified staff is trained and their methodology of imparting education upgraded.
Chief Minister said that government is firm in bringing about healthy change in education sector making it more qualitative and job oriented.
Laying emphasis on importance of moral and value based education, Chief Minister said that the classroom is next cradle for a child after his mother’s lap to learn the values and shape character, as such, schools should be germination grounds for cultivating responsible, morally high character, patriotic, friendly and qualified students.
Chief Minister said that schools are also basic laboratories where human genetic material gets decorated with high quality character and galvanized with social culture. He said that it has been observed that young kids have no bias in the genome on the basis of creed, caste, religion and region but when they grow up in the particular atmosphere they develop such considerations, as such, schools and education system should be of such a nature and standard where the basic human material shall not get influenced by these considerations.
