| Shavism : Three Day Seminar beings at RSS | | | Early Times report Jammu, Jan 28: A three day seminar on ‘Shaivism’ in memory of renowed Sanskrit scholar Pt. Baljinath Pandit beings at Ranbir Campus of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan (RSS) here today. Inaugurating the seminar, the vice-chancellor of Rashtirya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi, Prof. Radhavallab Tripathi said, that the philosophy of Kashmir art too has been influenced by Shaivism, Kuntaka, Bhattanayaka also created their works of literature under the influence of Shaivism. That is the reaon why Shaivaite term, Parispada is frequently found used in works by Kuntaka. Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai who also spoke said that commentary on Shrimadbhagwadgita, Acharya Abhinav Gupt has provided, a self-created shloka following by each chapter, the summary of each of the concerned Chapter from the po8int of view of Shaivism. She said that Shaivism does not regard the world to be false. According to her, Kashmir Shaivism also deeply influenced Sufism. She said that terrorism can be efrfectively dealt with by promoting and propagating Kashmir Shaivism. In his Presidential Address, Prof. Vishwa Murti Shastri said that in Kashmir Shaiv Darshan Shiva is the ultimate element and the significance of Lord Shiva is much greater than that of any other god. In the proximity of Lord Shiva, even born enemies live in perfect peace and harmony with each other. Therefore, if the study of Shaiv Darshan is popularized, mutual good relations would be strengthened and the family and social life is bound to be prosperous. Highlighting the purpose of organizing the Seminar, Prof. Yashpal Khajura said that the first sermon of this philosophy was given by Rishi Durvasa. While Abhinav Gupt was the main propounder of this philosophy Dr Baljit Nath Pandit was the last teacher of the philosophy he said. In the All India level seminar, scholars hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh will deliver lecturers on the subject. Among these scholars, are Prof. Uma Raman Jha, Prof. Prakash, Pandey, Prof. Vaidya Nath Jha, Prof. Kedar Nath, Dr. Girija Pandita, Dr. Brij Nandan, Dr. Jagir Singh, Dr. Ram Poojan and Dr. Sunita Gupta.
