| DC Anantnag, JKB Manager get Vigilance award | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: Chief Minister’s Vigilance Awards 2009 were today given to Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad and Senior Manager of J&K Bank, Muzaffar Ahmad Maqdoomi.
The role of Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad for involving people, NGOs and other persons in anti-corruption campaign was acknowledged and Maqdoomi in his capacity as responsible officer of the Bank detected corruption and brought these into the notice of Vigilance Organization.
Vigilance Commissioner, P. L. Gupta said that the transparency, accountability and accessibility are the prime features in a war against corruption. He said role of DDOs is also important to stop corruption at initial level by ensuring adherence to the codal formalities. He said the Vigilance Department has booked large number of cases, both against gazetted and non-gazetted officers, who were found involved in corrupt practices.
