jammu , Jan 28

Advocating the resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan, Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that despite fighting three wars both the countries are nowhere near a solution on the Kashmir dispute.

Abdullah said the violence on the border has increased after the suspension of talks between the two countries.

Addressing the media in Jammu after attending a seminar organised by the ''State Vigilance Organisation'' to find ways to curb the menace of corruption in the state, Abdullah said, "Even when we have talks, initially we might fail, but talks are the only way to solve the problem. I don''t think guns can get to a solution."

"We have fought 3 wars, fought against terrorism for 20 years. Every problem can be solved through talks, that''s why I am in favour of talks," he added.

There are certain forces in Pakistan, who are against friendship said Abdullah, adding that the people in Pakistan want to have good relations between the two countries.
