| Inter-collegiate debate competition held | | | Early Times report Jammu, Jan 29- To pay homage to Prof. Raghubir Singh, Rughbir Memorial organized an inter-collegiate debating competition on the topic “India will be world super power in 2020’ at Government College of Commerce here today. Prof Neetu Andotra HOD Commerce, University of Jammu, Prof. Veena Pandita, Principal GDC, Bishnah and Prof. G.L. Thapa, Ex-Principal were the guest of hour whereas Dr. Ajeet Angral, Principal, GDC Samba, Prof. H.S Sudan and Prof. G.R Sharma were special invitees. Anjana Bandral Widow of Late Prof. Raghubir Singh and Geetu daughter of the diseased were the special guests. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College described Late Prof. Raghubir Singh ‘a man of rare qualities of head and the heart’ Chief guest, Prof. M.L. Raina, recalled the sweet memories of his long association with Prof. Singh. Paying their respect to the departed soul, the speakers termed Prof. Raghubir a beautiful blend of knowledge and wisdom, courage and humility. Prof. G.L. Thapa, Prof. Veena Pandita, Prof. Neetu Andotra acted as judges of the debate competition in which first prize was bagged by Hari Lal of MAM College whereas second and third prizes went to Shreya Jain of GCW, Parade college and Ramneek Singh of Science College.
