Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 29: In recognition to the high academic merit of the children of serving police personnel, the Director General of Police, (DGP), Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, today sanctioned a reward of Rs. 5000 each in favour of 32 students.
The reward, amounting to Rs.1.60 lakhs is being disbursed to the students accordingly. The beneficiaries include students who have secured highest percentage of marks in Matric, 12th Class and Graduation level during the academic year 2008.
The awardees, who have secured highest percentage of marks in Graduation include Rasmeet Kour, Arun Sharma, Sarabjeet Kour Sudan, Suman Sharma, Shilpa Bhau and Firdoos Ahmad Sohil.
The students who have secured highest marks in 12 class are Adnan Mushtaq, Rumaisa Yousuf, Areca Wangnoo, Umar Farooq, Priya Sharma, Ishfaq Zahoor, Komal Jamwal, Vikram Singh, Arti Chowdhary, Sehla Majeed, Aman Sharma, Sandeep Singh and Basharat Hussain.
Similarly, the special rewards sanctioned for Matric students are Samiya Shah, Sahil Sharma, Mohit Kuma, Iyman Binti Fayaz, Rouf Ahmad Lone, Poonam, Ashwani Choudhary, Mohit Jamwal, Sunandani Sharma, Vivek Pandita, Jaipaul, Vivek Singh and Neha Pandita.
These award winner students are presently studying in different educational institutions across the State. The special rewards of Rs. 5,000 each out of Central Police Welfare Fund with commendation certificates have been sanctioned after reviewing the merit and percentage of marks secured by these students in their annual examinations.
While sanctioning the reward, the Director General of Police observed that children were future of the nation and it is the responsibility of parents to look after and facilitate them get modern education. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is taking keen interest in providing quality education to the children of police personnel. He hoped that the benefits from the facilities being provided to them and excel in different fields.
