Early Times Report JAMMU, JAN 29: Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah reviewed the status of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) proposed to be established in Samba, Ramban, Kishtwar and Udhampur districts, at a high level meeting here today.
The Meeting was attended by the Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST, Jammu, Dr. B. Mishra, the Principal Secretary Agriculture Production, Mr. Iqbal Khanday, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Ganai, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal and Deputy Commissioners of Samba, Ramban, Kishtwar and Udhampur districts.
The meeting was informed that six Krishi Vigyan Kendras are presently functioning at Jammu, Rajouri, Doda, Reasi, Poonch and Kathua districts in Jammu division. The Indian Council of Agriculture Research funds the establishment of Krishan Vigyan Kendras in terms of infrastructure, manpower and contingencies while the State Government provides land for the establishment of these Kendras.
The Chief Minister fixed 15 days time frame for the concerned DCs for identification of land for the proposed new Kendras.
