| Sarvodaya International pays tributes to Gandhi Ji | | |

Sarvodaya International Trust Jammu & Kashmir Chapter observed Gandhiji`s Martydom here today at St Paul`s Convent High School, Gangyal Gardens Gangyal Jammu.
The programme started with lighting of the traditional lamp followed by floral tributes to the Gandhiji who is popularly known as Father of Nation. Earlier guests were formally welcomed by Dr S S Bloeria the Chairman of the Trust who highlighted the main values of Gandhian philosophy. He elaborated the four core values i.e. truth, non violence, love for all & untiring desire to serve which can ultimately give happiness to all of us.
Then an Elocution Contest was held for school children in which children of Govt Girls Higher Sec School, Shastri Nagar, Govt Girls Higher Sec School Satwari, Govt Boys Higher Sec School Gandhi Nagar, Govt Boys Higher Sec School Digiana, Carmel Convent High School Kunjwani, Shiksha Niketan Higher Sec School Jeevan Nagar and St Paul`s Convent High School Gangyal Gardens schools participated.
At 11 am a two minute silence was observed by all which was followed by a bhajan by the children of the host school. Thereafter a documentary on Gandhi was shown to gathering. Then the participating students were given certificates of participation and winners were given the prizes by Dr Bloeria & Fr Thomas the Principal of the host school. The function was attended by Angchuk, Ms Manmeet Bali, Cultural Officer Directorate of School Education Jammu, Nathram CEO Jammu, Staff of participating schools, Fr Thomas and Sisters Refreshments were served to all participants. The program ended with a vote of Thanks By Dr Renu Nanda, Managing Trustee SITJKC and concluded with the recitation of National Anthem.
