| Book on ancient temples of Kashmir released | | | Early Times Report Jammu Jan 30 A title ‘Kashmir Hindu Shrines: Heritage And History’, authored by veteran Kashmiri Pandit community leader C L Gadoo, was released during a function by Yoga Guru Ram Dev ji at his Haridwar Ashram. According to a press statement book was released in the presence of over huge gathering and the book release function was telecast live the world-over and drew immediate appreciation from various corners of India and other parts of the world. Speaking on occasion, the Baba showed his inclination to take up the cause of the Pandits who are unfortunately living as a displaced community in their own country. The author C L Gadoo said that no talk of Kashmir’s rich cultural would be complete without reference to its Temple shrines most of which stood vandalized. ‘These shrines were central to the oft-mentioned composite culture of Kashmir and would be meaningless to harp on the theme of composite culture without restoring the pristine glory of these revered shrines, he said. The author said: The book has rare pictures of some non-existent Hindu temples and some others not in the public knowledge. It gives brief account about the history and origin of each of the shrines.
