| Salathia’s Public Durbars at Vijaypur | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 30: With a view to reach out to the people of far-off and remote villages , Minister for Industries and Commerce, S. S. Slathia today held a series of open public darbars at village Tavela-Saroor, Sukhyani, Reore, Channi and Diansar in Vijaypur in Samba district. District, Block and Tehsil level officers of various departments were present during the meetings. Problems like irregular water supply, re-alignment of electric wires, installation of hand pumps and upgradation of roads were the main demands of the people. Minister appealed people to cooperate with the Government in resolving their issues gradually. He asked the people to elect honest and dedicated people in the Panchayat elections being held soon. He said that honest people can supplement the Government’s effort to address the problems forthwith. At village Tavela-Saroor, Minister issued on-the-spot instructions for upgradation of main lane with laying of tiles, extension of PHE pipes, realignment of electric wires and development of a park. At Kukhyani, the Minister issued instructions for clearance of existing pond, upgradation of road and construction of boundary wall of Government Primary School. He also issued instructions to take up the issue of pollution caused due to the lime kiln in the vicinity so that people are not harmed. Minister also issued instructions for installation of transformer and restoration of water supply to the inhabitants of village Reore and assured that other problems projected would also be examined for early address.
