| Prof. Hamidi meets Governor | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, JAN 30: Writer and former Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Prof. Hamidi Kashmiri, met Governor, N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan, on Governor’s request. Prof. Hamidi has been honored with the Padma Shri Award this year for his outstanding contribution to Literature and Education.
Governor congratulated Prof. Hamidi for the recognition of his valuable contribution, spread over five decades to the enrichment of Urdu, Kashmiri languages and literature. Governor observed that there is need for the State to encourage publishing of well-researched books in Urdu, Kashmiri and other languages besides grooming students to take up higher studies in Urdu and Kashmiri. He added that Prof. Hamidi, could guide young scholars in literary pursuits.
