| JKPCC pays rich tributes to Father of Nation | | Gandhi’s ideology, philosophy relevant for all times: Soz | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 30- Rich tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his martyrdom today by the Congress party by organizing various functions throughout the state. The main function was organized by the JK PCC at its headquarters Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu which was presided over by the party president Prof. Saifuddin Soz and attended by senior functionaries of PCC, DCC, frontal organizations, and block presidents, representatives of different wings of the party from different parts of state, besides ministers, legislators and Corporators. While paying rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, the PCC leaders recalled various facets of life of Mahatma Gandhi and said Gandhi Ji will always be remembered for his ideology and philosophy which is relevant for all times to come. Prof. Soz said that Mahatma Gandhi practiced, in his day to day life, what he said, adding that Mahatma gave a strongest ever weapon of non-violence, which is mightier than any other weapon. Prof. Soz said that Mahatma Gandhi has impressed the whole World by his ideology, philosophy and principles and has shown path to the whole world and what Albert Einstein has written about Mahatma Gandhi has come out true. He said that Congress party and Congressmen should remain stead fast on the path of secularism shown by Mahatma Gandhi and that was how we would maintain the unity and integrity of the state and the country. Former Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma, Dharam Pal Sharma, Minister for School Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Madan Lal Sharma-MP, Minister for Revenue, Raman Bhalla, Prem Sagar Aziz, Ghulam Haider Sheikh, S. Parduman Singh-Ex-MLA, Mula Ram-Ex-Minister, Ravinder Sharma-MLC and other senior functionaries also paid their tributes to Father of Nation. Earlier, PCC Chief attended a function at Satwari Chowk where he garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. He was accompanied by Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma, Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed, Hari Singh, Sham Lal Sharma, besides other senior leaders of the party.
