| Conduct interview of petitioners for lecturers post, HC directs PSC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 30- Coming to the rescue of two aspiring candidates seeking directions from the Court in allowing them to appear in the interview for lecturers post, Vacation Judge, Justice JP Singh of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, after hearing Adv Nitin Bhasin appearing for the petitioners, directed Public Service Commission to conduct the interview of the petitioners too, along with other eligible candidates for the post of lecturer Economics 10+ 2, advertised by PSC. However, the result of the petitioners shall not be declared until further orders from the Court, Justice Singh ordered and directed the Registry to list the petition in the first week of March 2010. This direction was passed in a petition filed by Shilpa Gupta and Sindhuja Gupta seeking direction to PSC to conduct their interviews for the post of lecturer Economics 10+2. After hearing Advocate Nitin Bhasin, Justice Singh issued notice to J&K State through Commissioner/Secretary, Chairman and Secretary JKPSC. During the course of arguments Advocate Nitin Bhasin submitted that JKPSC has ignored its rules to follow at least the ratio of one 1:3 while short listing candidates for selection against the post of lecturers. The PSC has short listed 190 candidates for competition against 74 posts and deprived the eligible candidates including the petitioners of their right under the rules, Bhasin submitted. JNF
