| Bhalla lays foundation stone of Rs.47.36 lakh community hall | | Rs 1 crore earmarked for improving, lanes, drains, water supply in Raipur, Barjala: Bhalla | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JANUARY 31-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla today said that over Rs one crore would be spend for improving lanes, drains and water supply in Raipur Satwari and Barjala localities. Addressing a large gathering after laying foundation of a Community Hall at Barjala, to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 47.36 lakh. , Mr. Bhalla said that development of remote and far-off areas was the priority of the Government. He said that the State was all set to witness an unprecedented progress on the developmental front as there was no constraint of funds for completing the ongoing projects in the State. Mr Bhalla said that with the completion of multipurpose community hall, the people of Raipur Satwari, Barjala, Hakal, Govindpura Kullian, Chatha Mill and adjoining areas would get the facility for arranging marriage, religious and other social functions on minimal charges. He asked the executing agency to complete the same by April 2010 and urged for using quality material. The Minister said that focused attention was being given to improve basic amenities like augmentation of water, power supply, besides provision of better healthcare facilities. He said that Government has approved Rs. 80 lakh for construction of lanes and drains at Barjala and Raipur Satwari villages. He said that Government has sanctioned also sanctioned Rs. 27 lakh for improving drinking water facilities in uncovered areas of Bikram Nagar, Azad Nagar, Barjala, Hakla and Raipur-Satwari. Reiterating that Government was seriously looking working for solving the genuine issues of refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971, he said various initiatives are under active consideration of Central and State Governments for redressing the grievances of the refugees. He said that UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, has approved Rs. 49 crore for disbursement as land deficiency compensation among the refugees. The Minister said that the Government also enhanced the compensation of refugees from Rs. 25000 to Rs. 1.25000. He said that Revenue Department conducted open darbar in the colonies of refugees and disbursed compensation among the displaced families. The Minister asked the officers to work with zeal and dedication and provide better services to people, besides solving their problems within a time bound manner. He said, providing a people-friendly administration to the people was the priority of the present Government. Mr. Bhalla said that the Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah has taken various exemplary initiatives to revolutionize the developmental scenario of the State. He said that coalition Government has launched various welfare schemes for transformation of socio-economic condition of the people, especially belonging to weaker sections of the society. He called upon the people to come forward and avail the benefits of these schemes. Responding to the demands of Barajala and Raipur Satwari, the Minister asked the PHE department to dig a hand pump at Cremation Ground in Barjala for which, he announced an amount of Rs. 2.50 lakh. He also asked the concerned authorities to immediately start the construction work of 2-room and compound wall at Government Middle School, Barjala for which Rs. 5 lakh have been earmarked. At Bikram Nagar Lower Gaddigarh, the Minister asked the concerned authorities to prepare estimate for construction of lanes and surface drains. He asked the people to donate the land for construction of Government Primary School Building at Bikram Nagar. At Trikuta Nagar East Extension, the construction works of culvert and nallah was started in the presence of the Minister at a cost of Rs. 12 lakh. The Minister asked the executing agency to complete these within stipulated time frame.
