| Art carnival held on global warming | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 31: An art carnival on ‘global warming’ and other on ‘terrorism and its effects’ was jointly organized by Gandhi Memorial College of education, Sharika foundation at Raipur, Bantalab here today.
Students from age group of 8-23 of various school took part in the event. Renowed artists Pt Trilok Koul, Gokal, Rajinder Tikoo and Bushan Kesar were the resources persons under whose guidance at carnival took place.
Welcoming children, artists and guests organizer Sanjay Dhar said this art carnival was organized to create an awareness about the global warming and to know the feelings of children about terrorism. The under priviledged children combined with children from higher strata to express their feelings. Those who graced the occasion included Anil Dhar, Dr. KB Kachroo, Dr. CN Tiku, AK Dewani and Rahul Makin of big 92.7 fm was also present to inspire the children and later handed over gifts to the children.
Sharika foundation is taking lead in creating awareness about various social causes. Last year in Jammu, Sharika foundation organized Jammu Marathon -09 with theme ‘peace and save girl child’. The massive response to the marathon has encouraged the foundation to take more much steps for betterment of the society.
