| 113th birth anniversary of Guru Gyagi celebrated | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 31 : To celebrate the 113th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gyagi ji Mahahraj, Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association in association with Guru Gyagi Foundation organized a function today at Shahzadpur Kothi.
Thousands of devotees including men, women and children participated in the function which started early in the morning with a prayer and was followed by Bhajans, Satsang, cultural items.
Speaking on the occasion, Special Secretary Guru Gyagi Foundation RL Kaith described Guru Gyagi as one of the greatest humanists born ever. He said that Guru regarded all human beings as one single family adding that he believed in the doctrine of the fatherhood and brotherhood of man.
In his address, former MLA Satpal Lakhotra, chief guest on the occasion, stressed for social reforms. He called for unity, simplicity and discipline among the members of Batwal community so that the younger generation obtains good moral values.
Ramesh Kumar Kaith and Darshan Lal Motan also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion Batwal community conferred title of ‘Sher-e-Quom’ upon Sat Pal Lakhotra and presented the ‘Best Human Rights Activists Award’ to RL Kaith for his contribution in the field of social services and combating offences against community members. The community also declared Master Ajaib Singh Moton and Mulkh Raj Kaith as the Best Chairman and the Best Election Commissioner respectively of J&K Batwal Welfare Association.
Meritorious students and persons, who excelled in different fields, were also honoured on the occasion.
