| ‘Foul play in recruitments’, Gupta seeks Guv’s interference | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 31- Alleging foul play in the recruitments and selection of candidates for trainings, the leader of the BJP Legislators Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has impressed upon the State Governor to ensure fairness in the functioning of the constitutional and other autonomous bodies to avoid communal and regional tensions. The unfair means being adopted in recruitments and even in transfers is a major cause for growing corruption and other such like evils, he added. Responding to the complaints by highly educated and trained youths that certain elements in the ruling hierarchy with their communal mindset and having regional bias are manipulating the recruitments through Public Service Commission and other such like bodies as result of which regional and communal disparities are emerging fast, Prof. Gupta assured that the matter would be taken up at every level to check the wrought. A group of such youths had yesterday called upon the BJP leader and apprised him that how the communal and regional considerations are weighing high and even in promotions and selection of engineers and a particular section of the people is dominating. In this connection these youths provided certain facts and figures also to Prof. Gupta. In his statement, the BJP leader said that the respective Governments, especially the National Conference-Congress have done great harm to the unity of the people, more so to the State by indulging in manipulations. The regional and communal considerations on part of these leaders have created bad blood between the people of various sections and foul play with the entire system is endangering the very unity of the State and communalism have created problems like that of secessionism and even armed militancy, in addition to regional and communal disparities, he added and alleged that though the ruling leaders of National Conference and Congress claim to be secular and democratic but their actions do not match with their professions and actions. In the circumstances the last hope lies with the constitutional head the Governor to see through the lists of selections and promotions by various authorities especially the Public Service Commission, State Recruitment Board and other such like bodies, he stressed.
