Dy. CM reviews achievement of development works in Udhampur

Appreciating the power point presentation of developmental activities of each and every sector including decisions of District Development Board during October 3, 2009, additionalities and Action Taken Reports presented by the DDC, the Deputy Chief Minister said that still more has to be done in some sectors where the allocations could not be utilized.
For the purpose, Tara Chand stressed upon the officers to put in their honest and dedicated efforts in spending the allotted funds in each sector of development and in social and general services sectors. He exhorted for accomplishing the cent per cent results both financially and physically during the current fiscal by applying double shift schemes where ever necessary.
To encourage the honest and dedicated officers who achieve optimum results on the ground, the government would enlist their names for suitable awards. He was affirmative that every department would put in their sincerest efforts to achieve results and compete for award.
Later the Deputy Chief Minister also convened a meeting with Municipal Councilors of Udhampur town to assess the developmental activities of the town and seek views of the Councilors for further facelift of the town.To accomplish the SOS works of the town, the Dy. Chief Minister announced an additonality of Rs.30 lacs to Municipal Council Udhampur and said more funds could be provided from the District Plan.

Responding to the he issue of gravity water supply to Udhampur town instead of lift scheme from Chenani Power project under UIDDSMT at already sanctioned project cost of Rs.28.82 Crore raised by local MLA and Councilors, the Dy. Chief Minister assured that the matter would be discussed at the highest for a and some ways and means would be worked out in due course of time. Sucker machine for the town was also assured in the meeting.
