| Chib reviews construction work on Rs. 138 Cr. Super specialty hospital | | | Early Times Report Jammu : Feb.01. Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R.S. Chib today asked the Central Public Works Department engineers and other allied agencies, engaged in construction of Super Specialty Hospital at Reshamgarh, Jammu, to speed up the pace of work to complete it within the stipulated time. Mr. Chib was addressing an officers meeting here today, convened to assess the progress registered in the construction work of Rs. 138 crore Super Specialty Hospital under Pradhan Mantri Swastha Surakhsha Yojna (PMSSY). Recalling the directions of the Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah in this regard given at a high level meeting recently, Mr. Chib said that the same should be implemented in letter and spirit for timely completion of this ambitious project. He also asked the executing agencies to ensure timely completion of Institute of Traumatology Srinagar besides, monitoring the progress of work on these hospitals on fortnightly and monthly basis both at Srinagar and Jammu. However, Mr. Chib expressed satisfaction over the pace of developmental works being executed by various agencies especially CPWD. The meeting was informed that the structure of Super Specialty Hospital is almost complete and the work on landscaping, parking, construction of 33/11 KVA sub- station is in progress. Mr. Chib directed UEED to expedite the pace of construction of Sewerage Treatment Plant at the site well in time May 31st 2010 and take proactive action related to positioning of man-power, proper security and sanitation, maintenance of the hospital, besides proper management of bio-medical waste. The Minister asked Power Development Department to relocate the existing electric poles along the road leading to the hospital in order to pave the way for road widening. The meeting was, among others, attended by the Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. R.K. Jerath, Principal, Government Medical College Jammu, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Mr. T. Angchuk, Superintending Engineer, CPWD, Mr. Akhlesh Kumar, Director Floriculture, Jammu Mr. K.K. Sharma, Joint Director Planning, Health Department, Mr. Tariq Ahmed and officers of UEED,PDD,and PWD.
