| Manohar exhorts youth to help transform economic profile of JK | | | Early Times Report Jammu, February 01 - Minister for Co-operatives, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today said that youth of the State can play vital role in transformation of Socio-economic profile of the State. The Minister, while addressing a public meeting at Hiranagar in Kathua district, urged the people especially youth to have their contribution in changing the socio economic conditions of the people of the State. With a view to tackle the unemployment problem in the State, he said the Government has recently announced Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Policy, envisaging many soft loans for establishment of their Self-Employment Projects and added that youth should not waste their time in search of white caller jobs but should avail the benefits of the employment scheme. Dr. Manohar said that by virtue of this employment scheme the youth can not only earn their livelihood but can also provide employment to other educated unemployed youth and can supplement the Government efforts in tackling the unemployment problem very effectively. The Minister also distributed 12 cheques of Rs 20,000 each among the houseless families under Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) scheme and advised the families to utilize the amount for the purpose it has been sanctioned so that next installment could be released at the earliest.
Latter, the Minister gave on the spot instructions to the concerned to immediately widen the road from Hiranagar Morh to Hiranagar and start the work on 3 KM road estimated to Rs. 27 lakh from Dayalachak to Parmal
MLC, Mr. Subash Chander Gupta also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the policies of the Government announced for the welfare of people and appealed the people to come forward and take benefits from these schemes.
