Bhalla holds Public Darbar at Sainik Colony

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 01-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla today visited Sainik Colony, Barzjala, Govindpura Kullian, Chatha Mill, Sunjwan and Bhathindi and apprised himself about the people’s problems.

Mr. Bhalla said that the Coalition Government was committed to provide adequate drinking water, power supply, road connectivity and drainage system to the people. He said that the Government is committed to develop every nook and corner of the State on modern lines by providing all infrastructural facilities to the people especially of remote and far-off areas.

Responding to the people’s demands, Mr. Bhalla asked the Power Development Department to install two 250 KVA transformers in the Sainik Colony, one at Sector-A and another at Sector-B. He announced Rs. 8 lakh for repair and renovation of lanes and drains in the area.

The Minister said that the Government has sanctioned Rs. 3 crore for construction of Community Halls at Barjala, Bahu Fort, Raipur Satwari, Govindpura Kullian Siglighar, Rajiv Nagar so that the people could arrange marriage, social and religious functions at their doorstep on minimal charges. He said that Government has sanctioned Rs. 1 crore for upgradation of drinking water and power infrastructure in the Bikram Nagar, Raipur Satwari and Barjala.

For construction of 2-room and compound wall at Barjala, he announced Rs. 5 lakh for the construction work for the benefit of students. He also announced Rs. 5 lakh for digging two hand pumps at Barjala Cremation Ground and Community Hall.

Later, the Minister also attended the Annual Day Function of R P School in Bantalab.

The students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly applauded by the students, parents, prominent citizens and staff members.

Mr. Bhalla distributed prizes among the students who excelled in 2009-10 exams.
