State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has caught red-handed Mohammad Zaman, District Officer Khadi Village Industry Board (KVIB), Rajouri while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from a person. Mohammad Farooq, son of Aziz Din, resident Kewal tehsil Budhal in district Rajouri lodged a written complaint in Police Station Vigilance Office Jammu today alleging therein that the said officer is demanding Rs 5000 as illegal gratification for sanction of loan amounting to rupees one lakh in favour of his brother, Manzoor Ahmed for the establishment of barber shop. A case under FIR number 2/2010 P/S VOJ was registered and a team of SVO officials were deputed to Rajouri. The accused District Officer was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant. The tainted money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. The accused was arrested for further investigation.
