| LeT MILITANT, FOUR SOLDIERS KILLED IN POONCH | | |
Jammu, October 10: Five persons, including one LeT militant and four security personnel were killed in a gunfight in Surankote tehsil in Poonch district on Tuesday when troops raided a militant hideout.
Defence spokesman said, four soldiers were among five killed in a firefight when militants attacked a search party near Chamraid-Andarwali Doke in Poonch.
He said troops of Rashtriya Rifles were tasked to cordon off Chamraid-Andarwali Doke to track down a group of LeT militants hiding in the area in the wee hours when militants opened fire. Large quantity of arms and ammunition and one radio set was recovered by security forces. |
