2 dead, 11 injured in accidents

Jammu, Feb 1: In separate road accidents, two persons died on spot in Rehmbal area of Udhampur district while as eleven others including five students of Army School Kaluchack, received injuries after the school bus collided with a minibus, here today.
In yet another accident that occurred on the second consecutive day today in hilly district of Udhampur, two persons died on spot while six others received critical injuries when a vehicle they were traveling in struck with a rock in Palata area in Rehmbal on Jammu-Udhampur National Highway. The injured are being treated in GMC hospital where condition of four among six are stated to be critical.
The incident occurred when a Chandigarh based speedy vehicle which was on way to Srinagar collided with rock as the driver of the vehicle lost his control while negotiating over a blind curve.
Giving information a police officer said that the Tata Sumo bearing registration number CH02, 0853 which was carrying a dead body and some relatives of the deceased to Srinagar from Chandigarh collided with a rock in Plata area of Rambal in which two persons identified as Ghulam Nabi son of Mohd Aslam and Rahiti Bi wife of Ali Mohammad died on spot while as six other persons who were also traveling in the vehicle received critical injuries. They were later rushed to GMC hospital for treatment. The identification of the injured has been established as Shamima wife of Bashir Ahmed, Imtiyaz son of Ghulam Mohammad, Kiran Sharma son of Kishori Lal, Ghulam Mohd Mir son of Rayaz Ahmed and Shamero wife of Bashir all residents of Anantnag.
Pertinent to mention here that a day before the incident, two persons died on spot when a car in which they were traveling in rolled down at Ramnagar area in district Udhampur.
However, in another incident a school van bearing registration number JK02AM,0250 was hit by a matador bearing registration number JK02AC 0250 in Sainik Coloney area early in the morning in which five children received injuries. They were rushed to the hospital where they administering first aid. Police has registered a case in this connection and has seized the bus.
