| Footballers call on Sports Minister | | |

Jammu, February 02- A deputation of footballers and ex-office bearers of J& K Football Association from different districts of the State called on the Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Medical and Technical Education Mr. R.S.Chib here today.
The deputation apprised the Minister about the problems confronting the working of Football Association in the State. Several issues were raised by the deputation which include its elections of the J&K Football Association which have not been conducted as per the constitution of the Association, affecting tremendously the game and football community of the State. They pleaded for constituting a committee for determining the electoral college prior to holding fresh elections so that traditional sport of football which has a tremendous potential is popularized in its right perspective in the nook and corner of the State.
The Minister assured the deputation that the Department of Sports is endeavouring to streamline the working of all the Associations including Football Association and steps are underway to reform these Associations as per the requirement of sports community.
Director General Youth Service and Sports, Mr S.A.Laherwal and Director Youth Services and Sports, Mr. G.M.Dar were also present in the meeting.
