| SRTC fleet to get more buses | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 02: Government is committed to provide better facilities of transport and supply of Food grains to the people of J&K State adding that various steps have been initiated in this regard. This was stated by Minister for Transport and CA&PD, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon while interacting with a deputation of J&K Freedom Fighters Association, Jammu led by its General Secretary, Mr. M. R. Bargotra, who called on him today. The Minister said that recently new 34 buses have been pressed into service for the convenience of people and minimize the road accidents in the hilly areas of Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda districts. Besides, 150 new buses are being added to the fleet of SRTC at Kashmir and Jammu for covering more and more areas. Likewise, various progressive measures have been initiated in streamlining the CA&PD department to provide quality and scaled ration to the consumers. The deputationists appreciated the efforts being made by the Minister in brining transparency in public distribution system besides encouraging the honest officers. They also congratulated him for bringing improvement in the transport sector and hoped that these efforts will be continued in the interest of common people. The Association assured him full cooperation to the Government in implementation of the programmes and serving the people.
