| Bhalla launches work on community hall | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 02: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla today said that coalition Government has launched number of welfare schemes for the upliftment of weaker sections of the society. The Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stone of multipurpose community hall in the premises of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Sarvodaya School (VKSS) near Keryani Talab Narwal at Rajiv Nagar, coming up at a cost of Rs. 73 lakh. Chairman Health and Sanitation Jammu Municipal Corporation, Mr. Satesh Sharma, Vice-Chairman VKSS Mrs. Ved Ghai, Secretary VKSS Mrs. Ruby Sharma, Superintendent Engineer Jammu Development Authority and other senior officers of PHE, R&B, PDD and JMC were present on the occasion. Mr. Bhalla said that with the completion of multipurpose hall, a population of 50,000 souls of Rajiv Nagar, Rahim Nagar and adjoining areas would be benefited. To facilitate the people of weaker sections, he said that the Government has already laid the foundation stones of community halls at Bahu Fort at a cost of Rs. 87 lakh, Rs. 43.36 lakh at Barjala, Rs. 50 lakh at Nai- Basti, Rs.67.51 lakh at Raipur Satwari and Rs. 64 lakh for Bazigar basti in Bahu Fort. He said that the construction work of these would be completed by April 2010.
