| PDP legislature party to finalise strategy for budget session | | |
Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 2
To discuss the issues which were to be raised by Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) on the floor of the house in the ensuing budget session, a meeting of its legislature party would be convened. According to the Party General Secretary, Mohammad Dilawar Mir," Party did not discuss anything on issues that were to be raised on the floor of the Assembly and the Council during its executive committee meeting. The main business of the executive committee was limited to the adoption of the political resolution.” Mir said "We will discuss during the ensuing meeting of the PDP's legislature party whether the self-rule concept would be raised on the floor of the House" adding that if it was to be raised "we shall finalise the strategy for highlighting the issue." He said there were several other issues which needed to be raised in the House including continued power crisis. Alleging that whenever the state was ruled by the National Conference load shedding period would range between nine and 11 hours, Mir said when Mufti Mohammad Sayeed took over as the Chief Minister the period of power cuts was reduced to two to three hours a day. Mir said after the National Conference led coalition rule began in Jammu and Kashmir the situation on the power front worsened. He said another issue that needed to be debated on the floor of the House was the problem of unemployment.
