Jammu Feb 2: Demanding inquiry into the death of Wamiq Farooq Wani after he was hit by a teargas shell on Sunday, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prof Saifuddin Soz said the police officer responsible for the incident should be removed from service.
In a press statement issued today Soz condemned the killing of 13-year student who died after he being hit by a teargas shell.
“'I had said on earlier such unfortunate occasions that law enforcing agencies must understand that causalities like this are totally unacceptable to the civil society, said Prof Soz adding that such incidents can always be avoided.
PCC Chief further stated the least that state government should to is to institute a high level enquiry and summarily remove from service the police official responsible for this unfortunate death of innocent boy.
‘I strongly urge the state administration to take a serious view of this unfortunate incident so that such incidents do not occur in future, he concluded.
