| Nirvana Academy organises Guitar workshop | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 3: Nirvana Academy-a cultural club in collaboration with Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir organised a “Guitar workshop” at Kacchi Chawni here today. Former Mayor, Narinder Singh was the chief guest. The programme started with lighting of lamp followed by followed with the performances of Shivankur Bharti (JK Idol winner) and Sonali Dogra (participant, Voice of India reality show). Rohit Sharma played a ‘Pahari’ folk tune on the Santoor, which was appreciated by the audience. Music instructors Richard Teji and Deeraj Methews performed Solo as well as duet on the Guitar. Meenakshi and Shewata students of Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir performed classical music on Sitar. In the second session, Naina and Pooja performed English number on Guitar followed by the Dogri song performance by Aarif. Chief Instructor Sumit Sharma gave brief account on music instrument Guitar Narinder Singh appreciated the performances and said that Nirvana Academy and Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir has been playing pivotal role to promote music among the youngsters. Praduman Singh, Sahitya Academy Award winner, Krishan Lal Verma, Tabla Maestro Jammu, Shashi Sharma, Music Teacher and Ravi Sharma, secretary, Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir were the guest of honor on the occasion. Amit Sharma and Marvin was the accompanist with the performers. Vote of thanks was presented by Hitesh Badyal, president Nirvana Academy.
