| Migrants’ delegation calls on Mufti | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 3 Former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said that his party was aware of the problems being faced by the Kashmir Pandits migrants who have been living in Jammu and other areas. Interacting with a delegation of Kashmir Pandits, who called on him at his residence, Mufti assured that his party would effectively take up issues of displaced community. He reminded that the delegation during this tenure as Chief Minister of the state many steps were taken for the betterment of Kashmiri Pandits. A delegation of All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) headed by Desh Rattan called on former Chief Minister and apprised him of the problems being faced by the displaced community. The delegation demanded that relief being provided to the migrants should be enhanced. The delegation further pointed out that properties of the migrants have been encroached by some elements and there was a need to remove those encroachments. The delegation, while terming the recent employment package announced by the State Government as “eye wash”, maintained that instead of taking some concrete step coalition regime has been trying to hoodwink the displaced community. They pointed out that some posts announced for Kashmir Pandits have been reserved for Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST) despite being the fact there was not SC or ST among Kashmiri Pandits.
