| Sahitya academy organizes interactive programme | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 3: To provide platform to establish short story writers of various languages a interactive programme (Katha Sandhi) was organized by ‘Sahitya Academy’ New Delhi here today. The programme was inaugurated by a well know dogri short story writer Prof. Lalit Mangotra, and was attended by a galaxy of writers and intellectuals. On the occasion Prof. Magotra Prof. Magotra read two of his short stories-one ‘Pagal’ and another ‘Poaar’ which indicated wide rang of subjects. ‘Pagal’ depicts a situation which is full of humour and wit but touches an important psychological aspect of human beings. The story ‘Poaar’ deals with the aspect of death and meaning of life. Prof. also shared him experiences about his writing process, his formative years and addressed the question of why does he writes? The audience, which comprised not only dogri writers but writers from other languages, put many interesting and relevant questions pertaining to background of various short stories penned down by the author. Many questions regarding the present status and future scenario of dogri literature were also put to him as he is also the president of Dogri Sanstha. Prof. Magotra responded to the questions and dwelt in detail of dogri language and literature in future. He commented that the new literature which is coming up in dogri is very promising because of the topics and subjects covered and also because of the high quality and diversity of contents. Earlier Prof. Veena Gupta, Convener, Dogri Advisory Board of Sahitya Akademi while welcoming the audience and introducing the author and writer whose short stories are multi dimensional, covering wide range of aspects of human life. Renu Mohan Bhan, Deputy Secretary, Sahity Akademi presented a vote of tanks in which she highlighted various programme of Sahitya Akademi and also complimented. Those who present on the occasion include Nilamer Dev Sahrma, Khaliq Hussain, Javed Rahi, Arvinder Sing Aman, Shashi Pathania, Gianeshwar, Champa Sharma, B L Raina, R N Bargotra, Perduman Singh Jindrahia, Chattarpal, Chaman Arora, Om Vidyarthi, Deepak Kumar, Balwarnt Thakur, Jai Kumar, Sahrma etc.
