| Tara Chand reviews the working of H&U deptt | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 3: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, who holds the charge of Housing and Urban Development, convened a high level meeting of officers here today and took detailed review of various housing and urban developmental activities under implementation in Jammu city. The meeting held threadbare discussion with regard to successful implementation of various projects, including improvement in drainage system in Jammu. It was given out in the meeting that an amount of Rs. 5 crores, earmarked for improvement of drainage system, will be utilized fully to benefit the people. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed upon the officers to speed up the pace of work and ensure that works under execution are completed within stipulated time frame. He enjoined upon the officers of Jammu Development Authority, Municipal Corporation and Housing and Urban Development to work with zeal and dedication and ensure the utilization of funds in full, judiciously. He asked the officers for intimating well in time the savings, if any, enabling the Ministry to divert these for other works. Tara Chand said that the Government will not tolerate any violation of Master Plan and asked the concerned officers to remove encroachment if any. He directed the Committee, constituted for the purpose, to complete their task within in a time bound manner and submit the report at the earliest. He asked the officers for achieving the targets fixed to benefit the people at grass roots level, adding that the Government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people at their door steps. He stressed upon the officers to settle the cases, hear the people and solve their cases on priority. The Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, Minister of State for Tourism, Housing and Urban Development, Nasir Aslam Wani and MLA, Ashok Khajuria were also present in the meeting.
