| 65 PMGSY projects for Rajouri soon: Shabir | | |
Early Times Report Jammu, February 03: 65 new road projects, involving a cost of Rs.173 crore, are being taken up in the Border District Rajouri under VIIth phase of Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana, (PMGSY). Besides Rs 30 crore are being incurred on upgradation of power transmission and distribution network under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Viduti Karan Yojana(RGVKY) in the district. This was stated by Minister of State for Power and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Shabir Ahmed Khan while talking to various deputations and individuals from Rajouri, who met the Minister, here today. The Minister said that the proposed road projects under PMGSY have come in addition to the State funded works programme under Roads and Buildings Asserting that fulfilling of people’s aspiration and all round development was the prime objective of the Government, Shabir said a series of new initiatives have been taken by the Government to improve the socio-economic profile of hilly and backward areas by providing all basic facilities to the inhabitants of these areas at their doorsteps. Shabir said like other parts of the State, Rajouri District was also marching fast towards all round development, adding that the District was getting due share under all sectors and at present, construction of number of new developmental projects was in full swing
