| Free cancer diagnosis treatment camp organized | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 4: A free cancer screening diagnosis and treatment camp on the occasion of world cancer day was held at Maharishi (MD) Dayanand hospital and medical research centre here today. During the camp 84 patients attended the camp, out of which 73 patients were investigated, out of which four patients were registered for free chemotherapies. Some patients were offered 3DCRT and IMRT are done on state of art linear accelerators and it requires huge amount of money to take such type of treatment which is difficult for poor patients. Camp was followed by a cancer awareness event where all the academic, civil society and cancer patients lit candles to support the initiative for cancer patients. The event was inaugurated by Swaroop Kour cancer patient in stage IV who got free treatment at Maharishi Dayanand hospital. On the occasion, cancer awareness material was also distributed among cancer patients and general public. Free medicines were also distributed. Whole event was sponsored by Maharishi Dayanand hospital and silver lines and initiated by radiations of hope (a cancer care initiative of Dr. Deepak Abrol a caner specialist.)
