| Bhim addresses Rotary International | | |
EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 4
Chairman, Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council Bhim Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir has been facing tragedies after tragedies because of the blunders of the Central leadership and over ambitious agenda of Pakistan since the partition of India in 1947. The Panthers Party Supremo was addressing members of Rotary International at Hotel Hyatt Regency, New Delhi late last evening. Singh made several revelations which according to him created a mess in the political climate of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Jawaharlal Nehru’s support to National Conference in its so-called ‘Quit Kashmir’ movement was a blunder that led to personal conflict with the Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh. He said Dogras were not outsiders and the Quit Kashmir movement was not only sectarian, unethical but also tainted with communal agenda of National Conference. He said another blunder which carries bitter realities was that instead of liberating PoK (Muzaffrabad), Nehru went for a ceasefire, the movement Indian Army led by General Kariyappa reached Kishanganga. Instead of taking Sardar Patel into confidence the Indian Prime Minister filed a complaint against Pak invasion before the Security Council, Bhim Singh alleged. In reply to several questions raised by former generals, bureaucrats and other distinguished persons, Bhim Singh said that resolution to the present situation lies in resolving the status of LoC once and for all and reorganization of state on linguistic, cultural and geographical identities by amending Article 370. Winnie Singh, President of Rotary International, who presided over the meeting, described the speech of Panthers Party Chairman as highly educative.
