| NC leader welcomes Foot Bridge over Chenab | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 4
Vice President of District Reasi unit of National Conference (NC) GQ Mughal has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for sanctioning the project for the construction of a Foot Bridge over Chenab River at Kabi village, which will come up at an estimated cost of 2.46 crores out of which Rs 50 lacs have already been released during the current financial year. Addressing media persons here today, Mughal said that construction of this bridge was a long pending demand of public of the area since there was no foot or motorable bridge from Kanthan to Dhamkund ranging a distance of 70 kms. He also hailed Omar Abdullah and Dr Farooq Abdullah Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy for taking keen interest for the sanction of Swalakot Hydro Electric Project which is only ray of hope for upliftment of this backward and under developed area. NC leader highlighted other demands of the inhabitants of Gool-Arnas constituency including establishment of Territorial Tehsils at Gool and Arnas, which already stands recommended by Wazir Commission, engagement of local unemployed youths in the ongoing railway project from Kanthan to Banihal and in Swalakot Hydro-Electric Project and special on spot recruitment of unemployed youths in security forces.
